The thought behind every musical sound helping set the tone throughout the revamped series Bel-Air. You tune in and the first thing you hear is No Role Modelz by J. Cole, "First things first..." which then makes a transition to a Philly national anthem from Freeway with What We Do and instantly you're locked in. It's amazing what music can do to entice viewers.

I was in awe of every record playing at the right moment, whether that be in the background of a fundraiser event that Uncle Phil or Aunt Viv were putting on or as the soundtrack to move us on to the next scene. It all just felt very intentional which led me to kick back and watch the end credits in its entirety, there it was 'Music by Robert Glasper & Terrace Martin' and it all made sense.

Robert Glasper x Terrace Martin

These two are geniuses at what they do, their ear is second to none and it's evident in the curation of artists they bring together to create records. 2020 saw the release of their project Dinner Party including 9th wonder & Kamasi Washington in the production of it all. After this release it made me wonder where do they go from here and with their involvement in this series you can gain a sense of the direction they are headed.

Robert Glasper has been providing us with hits for years, especially with the Black Radio installments. Below is an amazing record from the 1st installment. Perfect timing also sees him recently release Black Radio III which you can find on your favourite DSP.

Terrace Martin has also done the same and his most recent release is the DRONES project featuring an all-star selection of artists. Below you'll find the outro which allows me to perfectly end this appreciation write-up. We look forward to more of what's to come.
