Web3 is well & truly underway and Nike have made sure they do not miss out on the action. They've built a platform to get their products and services up and running in the space using Polygon as the backbone, which we invested a few pounds in prior to the announcement.
It's still early days for Nike but the process has been smooth so far with the first mint being your membership badge. They gave us the opportunity to customise the look and feel of it in terms of colour and logo used. We had to initially register our interest and weeks later got an e-mail in our inbox to tell us registration was open, we didn't waste any time to be one of the first to go on this journey with Nike and since then have had campaigns in #OurForce1 and #YourForce1 to get involved in.
We played our part in #OurForce1 by getting involved in the voting process of legendary Air Force 1 sneakers that have been released over the years, our votes led Nike to keep a select few that would act as the staples to continue the campaign. We also got involved in the #YourForce1 campaign where users had the chance to get in submissions of inspiration, for what Air Force 1 meant to them and how their life coincidided with the sneaker. Winners would be able to create their own digital creation of the Air Force 1 in which they'd see some dividend over the years. It was nice to see all the submissions and there was tough competition where only 4 users were crowned winners, we unfortunately weren't one of them but being part of the process was a win in itself.
We look forward to seeing what else Nike has to offer as they continue to be one of the major corporations pioneering in the Web3 space. As a matter of fact they will offer Our Force 1 creations for users to purchase, they airdropped some dope posters to a select few dotswoosh members who have been granted first access on May 15th (we're one of them) and it will be available to the rest of dotswoosh members for general sale on May 17th.
The Web3 space is cooking up.
